ABOUT BROOKLYN

Brooklyn Arnot studied a Bachelor of Arts (1st class honours) at Sydney University which taught her about the importance of stories, myths and imagination. During this degree, she did a subject in creative writing and multiple subjects on Norse Mythology, which is one of her great loves in life.

Another of her great loves is art. Her first major Art Exhibition was Art Express in 2016 which showcased her year 12 major work. After that, in 2019, she exhibited some of her ink drawings at the launch for Philament, in which she also published her first short story. In 2020 she exhibited another drawing, “Two Thousand and Twenty” in the Byron Arts Magazine Prize. Following this, in 2021 she studies a diploma of visual arts at Sydney Art School. During 2021, she won the people’s choice award at The Curious Creators December exhibition.

Brooklyn has significant experience working with children and adults: she has been running and leading in Church Sunday School programs since 2011, and has worked as an English tutor since 2015 with children from 4 years old – 50 years old.

Brooklyn’s experience as an English teacher, Art teacher, Sunday School teacher and student of art and literature have given her a passion for bringing together art and storytelling. She passionately believes that art has the power to overcome barriers, build empathy and bring us together.
