Open Art Studio Day / Popup

April 2017 – Yesterday I held an Open Studio art / pop up day  from my art studio here at Umina on the Central coast, the weather shone like a beauty!! Which is lucky given the amount of work I had to hang out and the rain we had earlier in the week (so happy for that).

Following the success I have had of the popup show with local artists  Judith Hoste  & Sherry McCourt at Xmas time for the past 2 years, I thought it would be great to do a little showing for myself which i have to say is hard work on your own but also good that i didn’t have to actually transport all of my artworks to any other location and it also meant I could get almost EVERYTHING out of the cupboard and put it where its needs to be out on display!!!

I will admit i was actually quite surprised how many artworks I have lying around but i guess that’s what you get after 15years of doing this there were over 51 works not include some extras i found lying around and not including any of the prints and cards!!!! 🙂

I also had on show my new collection of art prints that have just been added to my shop this week, some of them are especially designed for Mum’s but others are just contemporary florals prints that would make lovely gifts for friends.  In my actual studio I opened this out and had some of my art journals, works in progress and demo pieces from workshops and classes it was such a delight for me to take people in here, somewhere I spend so much time and talk to them about their work and show them the inner workings of all i do. Hopefully it inspires people in their artistic journey 🙂

Everyone who came in the door was asked to tell me what their favourite was, my art range is quite broad from abstracts to portraits in such a variety of mediums, i used to think this was a bad thing but now i beginning to love it and nurture it as a unique quality i have and many people who came along said how nice it is to see as there is something for everyone rather than it just being the one type / style of art 🙂 That makes my heart sing.
