For the May 2022 Popup Activation I would like to share a bit of information about me Belinda Lindhardt

Belinda LindhardtBelinda Lindhardt

Belinda is an artist, illustrator, graphic & web designer, tutor & mentor and has been living on the Central Coast for over 16years having moved up from Sydney’s Northern Beach where she grew up.

Belinda has many different styles of art from realism to abstract, contemporary to some more traditional. She is primarily a self-taught artist and has dabbled in many different mediums, techniques, subjects, and styles and now celebrates that she is an artist who loves to push the boundaries and give it a go. Belinda’s works are bright and colourful, can contain textures, and patterns as a common theme & often these days created with Mixed Media painting techniques using drawing and painting together.

Belinda has also illustrated her works both traditionally and digitally and used these combined processes for client projects & turning her art into products with surface pattern design, which is still a passion she works on today.

In the past, Belinda has served in local art community groups for many years as well as being a tutor teaching art classes here on the coast privately as well as at Gosford Regional Gallery. She also had the pleasure of supporting the online community when she started the first Australian Coloured Pencils community.

For this exhibition in May 2022, Belinda has decided to theme it as

“Pieces of her”

which is

“Celebrating the Diversity of Expression of Art by the feminine mind”

This exhibition will celebrate the various styles, mediums, and subjects that are present in my art with honor and grace. In the past, I have perhaps dampened my ability to switch from different types of styles but as I come to a certain age through many of the journeys of life I now recognize I am all the things and I am capable and this is just the way I work and that is worth celebrating. It may not be conventional, it might be out of the box but as a woman, a mother, daughter, friend, and businesswoman I feel like I can finally step into this place and totally be ok with that and I hope that others will also enjoy the variety.

When given the opportunity for this activation, it was important to me that I also be able to offer this space to other creatives and artists in my local community and to share with others in whichever capacity I can. Hence there has been a lot of work in being able to facilitate this space in all the different ways but I am proud to be able to offer it within my skillset and experiences and so I jump in and give it a go!

The theme that I came up with for this exhibition also translates to celebrating other artists and creatives in their own diversity through whichever medium they choose and as a single mother extremely important to help others who have had limited access to opportunities & minority groups and encourage people to keep going and see where we can come together to support one another.
